Renewing PRC ID Manually

It's been 6 years apparently since I passed my board exams, 6 years practicing medicine, while at the same time, traveling and eating and enjoying life. (Hmmm... so what is this direction of my life? But that's another post haha)

According to various sources, I can renew my PRC license online (https://prc-online.com/). Unfortunately, when I do, it would say that I go locally to a PRC renewal center. (Or maybe I didn't try hard enough to upload a 2x2 picture with white background, no glasses, showing my ears, etc.) I thought that SM still renews PRC IDs, but I guess it also disappeared along with the LTO Satellite offices. (Tsk tsk! My previous experience only took me less than 30 minutes to renew in SM Marikina) So I went to the main PRC office in Morayta, Manila.

One can actually just ask around for the directions on how to go about renewing your license, but I guess I'm feeling a little inspired today so I'm writing this down.

Step 1. Go to Public Assistance Desk and get an application form for renewal of PRC license. Fill it up, and paste a passport-size colored picture with white background (no sleeveless).

If you don't have a picture, you can take your photo inside for PhP 85 (4 copies of NOT-good-quality passport pictures), If I had known, perhaps I should take my photo outside because I feel that their camera is not that good or I really look bad in ID pictures taken inside the PRC compound (okay, this is just my second time here).

Step 2. Submit your application form in Window 27, and wait for your name to be called again. They will assess the fee needed for you to pay. I waited approximately 30 minutes for this.

Step 3. Once they call your name, pay your fee in Window 2. PhP 450 for Physicians.

Step 4. Submit your application form (with the receipt number) in Window 22, where they will process the ID cards.

Step 5. Go to Window 7 and wait for your name to be called so you can claim your re-newed PRC ID.

It took me 2.5 hours to finish, but at least I don't have to return after 1 week to claim my ID card anymore. Though... I would still prefer the satellite offices in SM. But hey, who knows if they will have that again in 3 years?
